On my lower body days I have SSB squat as first movement for quads. I feel quads getting a good beating but as the exercise is complex I stop when I reach total body fatigue and forms starts to get shaky but the quads are not done yet. I made some nice progress, hit a 95kg x8 last workout as top set. I finished a 12 week program and I will restart it and I thought of giving a banded pendulum a try as I used machine before and I could really demolish my quads with it. My question is does SSB brings extra benefits to the table in terms of lower body development? I am an early intermediate and I want to gain a lot of muscle overall. My thought was that SSB stimulates other lower body muscles and core more as it requires more stability vs the pendulum. Does that play a big difference in overall muscle gain? Would I be able to offset that with other lower body movements ? Currently on my lower body days I do: SSB, banded RDL, leg extension, lying leg curl, rear foot elevated SS and calf raises.
