I see people suggesting that there are benefits to raising the elbow on a bicep curl as the bicep crosses the shoulder joint. Is this worth incorporating?

Imo it’s probably not worth it- fact is the biceps just don’t have good leveerage for shoulder flexion- primary shoulder flexors do, so the biceps probably play more of a stability role. Of course, form is pretty individual so give it a whirl and see how you feel, if you get a good stimulus to fatigue ratio from incorporating some shoulder flexion hey go for it
