I saw this a couple weeks ago on Nick’s stories and have been procrastinating on asking the question about it here. Since I didn’t fully understand at the moment the why’s of what he’s saying.

Why are only his shoulder blades contacting the pad being something optimal?

Why a flat angle would (by “default”) not give advantage to the pectorals. I say this because of the “but” in the sentence.

I get that the elbow joint has a high torche from the load, thus the bicep is involved. But why it would be even more involved if he lays totally flat and the same with the front delt.

As this are too many questions I figured wouldn’t be appropriate to reply all the stories asking it to himself; and since I have access to sources of knowledge like you guys I figured it would be better and I could get extensive answer asking it here.
