Hey guys,
so I’ve been listening to some podcast in which a neuroscientist recommended to calm the nervous system between sets when working out. His suggestion was to use something which is called a “physiological sigh”, two inhales followed by a long exhale. Thus, the body’s stress response is mitigated, heart rate goes down etc.
Might there be some benfit integrating this kind of practice in workouts? Or might it even be detrimental from a hypertrophy point of view, considering the metabolic stress response as a cofactor of hypertrophy?
Best, Jan
