It has become very difficult to progressively overload on incline DB bench in the pec program simply because I can’t get the weight above my head to start that first rep. I train on my own so getting someone to help me isn’t an option. Quick example is last week I repped 85s for 8 reps but definitely was tough to get the movement started. Today I attempted 90s which realistically I should be able to get close to 5-6 reps but I simply couldn’t get the weight over my head to start the movement. Any tips on this or should I focus more on just perfecting those 8 reps with the 85s as a form of progressing?
