    Hey, Joe!

Longtime recreational cyclist here. Came to lifting in early 2018 to rehab a crash injury and kinda fell in love. I am now lifting 4-5 days a week and feeling serious about hypertrophy after focusing on strength at first.

I ride 3-5 days a week (cycle-commuting and the odd hi-intensity recreational ride) on top of my training. I’ve found the conditioning I have from the bike has been a blessing in the gym, but now that my primary goal is hypertrophy, I’d like to clarify something.

Are long or hard hours of cardio antagonistic to my goals for hypertrophy? I have the unresearched belief that they are. A certain amount of antagonism is ok because when I gotta ride, I’m gonna. But if we assume my nutrition and sleep are dialed, the main question I have is this: since my primary goal is hypertrophy and I wanna get more jacked, how would you caution me, if at all, about how much cardio I’m doing and how hard I go doing it?

    Thx man!
