    Good Afternoon Guys,

I started gym 4 years ago, I did not good for the first 3 years and have like no result.

After 3 years I started to follow Ben Pakulski for Training and Joe thanks to HEM program.

So to not be lost I am only following Ben Pakulski’s and Joe’s advices on training

But the problem is I am completely lost about nutrition and Hypertrophy.

Some good coaches say when you bulk you must keep your calories higher even on rest days, and some coaches say to decrease calories on rest day. Some people say to bulk until you gain a good “form weight” and cut after. This is really hard to determinate which one is true.

With the picture I joined can you please tell me if I need to bulk or cut right now ?

I hope Joe and Hypertrophy Coach Family will help me with this trouble

Greetings from France where we can’t train in a gym since Mid-October.

    Alexandre

Thank you Bryce for the answer

The thing do I have to be at very low body fat to start increasing my calories ?

I mean here on my picture my abs are not visible must I need to be very lean to add real tissue ?

Your answer is very complete I am at 2557 calories at the moment I divide my macros in 5 equals meals and in one week my weight did not change I am at 79 kilos. Must I drop down my calories to be very lean or must I increase my calories I want to add lean tissue what would be your advice ?

Many thanks for these informations Bryce.

At the moment it is lockdown in France then I don’t have access to a cardio machine

Whatever I got a fitness watch and I will try to reach each day for example 10 000 steps to have a better cardio activity.

So now I will stop following tons of people on nutrition and will keep your thought to follow the same way and not always asking question about it, thanks again.

Many thanks for your answers it helps a lot. At the moment I can’t love this much because of lockdown then I am on 2500 calories it is maintenance calories +200 just to see where it goes each week.
Since begining I did pay too much attention on diet and not training. Thanks to you now Joe I pay attention to contract as much as I can my muscles with the heaviest weight I can to grow.
One of my big trouble was to not keep tension on the whole range of motion.
I am doing it now and I can say that I train pretty hard 💪🏼

I will keep update my physique

    Thanks again

@joe@Bryce I reach a plateau in terms of nutrition.

I was at 2556 calories with 5 equal meals a day for 3 weeks and I was stuck at 79 kilos (5 working days a week)

I decided to increase by 200 calories only with carbs so 10g carbs more on each meal and after 1 week I am still at 79 kilos.

What must I do there, does not my body assimilate the carbs surplus ?

The good part is I still have the same strength/good feeling when I train

    Many thanks for your answer
