Hey guys,
I’ve been trying to standardize my reps by making sure to go trough the full range of motion each single rep. This sometimes results in the machine weights touching each other while doing machine exercises or my joints locking in while doing dumbbell movements. Some guys came up the me and said “this is wrong, you have to keep constant tension on the muscle”.
Is there some truth in that? From what I understand going through the whole ROM is more beneficial for hypertrophy, as it stretches the worked muscle more and standardizes reps. So what’s up with this “constant tension on the muscle”. Is it just bro talk?
