InactiveTo be honest, I’ve never really understood this whole food demonization thing. I mean, are there certain foods that are lower in quality? The answer is, Absolutely yes. However, if your diet doesn’t solely consist of that one specific food item only I can’t see why it would somehow make the whole diet bad or unhealthy or whatever.
Now, in general I would always advice to follow as “clean” diet (hate that word by the way) as possible but sometimes, especially when calories get very high, implementing some of these more calorically dense food items, can really come in handy.
So as I said, if you are not following Pop Tart only diet I wouldn’t be too worried about having some less healthy food options but as a general rule try to eat the least amount of processed foods possible. Hopefully that made even some sense 😀

So did he actually say that corn in itself is unhealthy or products that are made of corn for instance corn flakes, high fructose corn syrup etc.

ParticipantAs with most things in nutrition, it really just boils down to the individual.
From a chemistry stand point there is argument that corn has omega 6 which can be inflammatory if taken in excess. That’s all I can comment on this topic really

Good answers from everyone. Like Bryce said, the main POTENTIAL issue with corn is inflammation. Which, again, POTENTIALLY has more to do with the way most corn is manufactured in US. Compared to the actual corn itself. What I eat post training is organic, whole grain sprouted non-GMO maize (which just means corn). Which arguably is gonna save you from things that MIGHT cause excessive inflammation in “normal corn”. And at the end of the day, starch is starch in the body. So while I personally like trying to minimize foods that may cause excessive inflammation – it’s likely not that big of a deal to have some corn-based foods in your diet, if you’re already my making better food choices than most of the world.
