Recently I’ve been dealing with some knee pain when at the bottom of any squat / leg press movement, even when just squatting down to pickup something off the floor. Seems to be more load dependent because if bend my knee up to my chest there isn’t any pain, but the more weight I add to the bar / machine the more pain.
Specifically the pain is underneath my kneecap, but above my shin bone.
Was wondering if there was anything I could be doing to help relieve the pain so I can get back to training legs hard? (Any exercises, rehab work, etc)
I was just getting ready to start a cut, and I’m worried that if I can’t get back to training my legs hard, I’ll lose the muscle I’ve gained (this past year I put a lot of size on my legs, especially my quads so really want to maintain it haha)
It sounds like it could be the tendon that is inflamed. Is your general flexibility good? I found that I relieved a lot of my knee pain by improving my flexibility by stretching my quads. You may need to use knee sleeves to help support the knees and keep warm when training.
