ParticipantAdvice for eating in a caloric deficit. Do you recommend large calorie (>500) deficit with shorter time spent dieting, or shorter deficit (<500) with longer time spent dieting?

KeymasterWhat’s the goal? The vast majority of the time, I opt for moderate size deficit, for longer period of time.
like the first question though, depends on the goal a bit. There are exceptions

To give you are more accurate answer I would need some info about you first.
First of all how many times a week you train, cardio, current calories, stats etc.
In general if you are on the “fluffier” side when it comes to body weight I would typically start off a bit more aggressively. At the beginning when you are still fresh you can handle a larger deficit as fatigue hasn’t yet accumulated and there’s also less risk of potential muscle loss.
In any case, a bit more information about yourself would be helpful.

Please refrain from giving anything that even closely resembles prescriptive diet advise. Unless your a dietitian/nutritionist, it’s outside of your scope of practice. (Which is why I leave my replies at concepts or general guidelines). And if you are a dietitian/nutritionist, please don’t use my app to solicit services. Please don’t take this as negative. But most people don’t consider the ramifications of giving unqualified advice. As well as, even if you are qualified, not working with someone 1 on 1/in person and taking all the appropriate steps, will be a disservice to the individual. (Which is why I don’t give prescriptive exercise info on the site/app - even though I’m qualified to do so)
