Hi coach – I am an early morning workout person. Up at 4:15am, gym by 5:00am.
Currently, and honestly for a long time, I’ve always done my gym sessions in a fasted state. I do drink a pre-workout.
Would there be any benefit in eating some food pre workout in such a small window? I thought is in that 30-40min window between waking up and getting to the gym whatever food I cooks consume wouldn’t be digested and available for my body to utilize in that days workout. Any advice concerning this?
    Thanks!

I workout during the same timeframe and usually wake up and in a big water bottle mix EAAs, cyclic Dextrin, electrolytes and drink that before and during my workout. Seemed to make a big difference!

I usually am up about 4.45am to get to the gym when it opens at 5.30. I usually make some overnight oats with a scoop of protein powder the night before, so I can just chuck that in the microwave to warm up.

Recently started taking some electrolyte powder aswell before leaving the house and I feel that’s make a massive difference aswell.

Then when I’m training I have Glutamine in my waterbottle.

    On the topic of pre-nutrition,

Ideally how long should you wait after a full breakfast to workout?

Is 90 minutes generally considered enough time?

    Thanks

    Thanks guys
Currently I take a pre workout containing glutamine, beta alanine, BCAA, caffeine and a few other things. Lately I’ve been adding 1/2Tsp of Himalayan pink salt to it and I’ve noticed a real difference in performance. Seem to be on the right track given the responses
