Hey! So I will finally be working with my first client since certified. He is an older man who only really only wants to do machine work. How would you train a “Miss Jones”?

No disrespect man but you didn’t really provide us any info to work with?

I mean do you even know the person yet? How old, background, goals etc. And why does he want to be called Miss Jones? 😀

This is where your communication and assessment skills really come into play.

No matter the age of the client, you never want to break them.

If they want to “only train in machines” start them there. I never advise making clients do what they don’t want to do. However, as you two begin to establish time and a relationship that trust, mixed with your skill set should open up opportunities to teach him/ her the benefit of other applications as you see fit.

Just be very aware of where they can live through each joint comfortably and talk every single set with them. What are they feeling? Are they understanding? How is their pain/ lack there of?

Hopefully this is painting a picture.

I’ll answer this in it’s own video. Just a very loose overview of where to start.
