Joe: I recently built a home gym with the closings around my area due to Covid. I have a regular push/pull/legs split, but some nights I feel like getting some extra work. I’ll have a random craving to hit a set or two of a random exercise, but I’ve been restraining to maximize the recovery built into my split. What are your thoughts on occasionally hitting random sets throughout the week if not done to failure? Is there ever a place for these or would they mostly be counterproductive?
