I looked for this in the forums but I didn’t see where someone had posted yet. I’m looking to do my first show this August. What program works best for show prep if there is an ideal split or volume regimen. I know calorie wise you keep cutting little by little but didn’t know what approach for lifting would be. Thanks!

Congrats on deciding to do your first show.

As the saying goes, “do what brought you.”

Training-wise, you will want to keep training the same as long as you can—Keep lifting hard to preserve the muscle as long as you can.

As you get closer to the show, prep requires more recovery and fatigue management. At that point, you will likely need to adjust training, maybe less fatiguing movements (Smith squats over BB back squats), for example.

He has a video here about adjusting training going through a diet/prep. Do a search on that. Excellent video
