    Hi coach,
I just got an idea while reviewing the accodomating resistance video on converging presses. I think the problem with hammer strength front lat pulldown is similar to the press machines in that the weight arcs around the axis of rotation so the moment arm gets longer at the top where the lats contract. I don’t know if it’s clear in the picture attached but the initial position of the weight is actually very close to the rotational axis at the beginning at about 5 o’clock position so the weight is very light when it starts and ends at about 2 oclock. I figured then maybe it’s possible to adjust the profile of the machine if I set the seat as low as possible so when I start pulling down the weight is somewhere closer to 4 and ends at 1. Would this make sense from a mechanical point of view to make the machine heavier at the beginning and slightly lighter at the top?

Great answer thank you Bryce! So it would be worth to find the sweet spot for me where I have the seat low but don’t start flexing my elbows more as I go from the mid to shortened length of my lats.
