As always. I must start by saying love all the content. One issue that has really been messing with my head lately is how to properly develop my back and the movements.

If you didn’t notice by the title this is going to be a mechanics question.

I was always under the impression that pronated grip did upper back work (traps rhomboids) for row. Supinated with a shoulder width Pulldown focuses more on the teres major. (Elbows away from the body), and a neutral or supinated grip Pulldown or row put emphasis on the Lats.

I do understand that an arched back in any of these positions moves the rib cage and puts the Lats at a disadvantage. But I have read how a neutral grip can target mid traps and not Lats. This was predominantly shown on a hoist row machine and a hammer row and the user had a neutral spine.

Can you please give a crash course in the mechanics of the shoulder and humorous adduction and abduction I’m now understanding.

    Thanks,
