I’m considering the Hoist Hack/Leg press dual machine and wanted to ask if anyone has any experience. I am aware that it will most likely not be as nice as having separate machines but as long as it still is adequate, I’m ok with it. I’m assuming it will be a little more rickety and of course take a few minutes to set up when going from one exercise to the other but as long as it basically feels like the lifts, I’m ok with it.

Probably won’t ever go over 5 plates per side on leg press and 3 plates per side on hacks so light to moderate use as far as weight goes. Max a few clients per day.

Any info/advice appreciated on the Hoist or other companies 2 in 1 machines for leg press/hack press. Thanks!

Just never been a fan of these designs. They prove to be more structurally challenging for more people than actually beneficial. As with everything, there are outliers, but the overall design can be limiting.

I agree with Bryce, I have tried a couple of them including ForceUSA and honestly it wasn’t worth it. I am 6’1 and the range of motion on the hack was still limited. Better to just get a solid leg press if you don’t have enough room to get both separately.

Thanks guys. Assuming the leg curl/leg extension combo machines are in the same boat as far as y’all’s opinions go?

Actually those aren’t that bad. Prime has two fantastic options that are not listed on their site yet, but you can reach out to Mike Kearney. They have a leg extension and seated leg curl combo, and a leg extension and prone leg curl combo. I have a TuffStuff leg extension/seated leg curl combo that is pretty good and does the job fantastically well, waiting for the prime one but the feedback on that is fantastic. There are some other good options as well. Not all combo machines are good but the chances of finding a good leg extension/curl combo are pretty decent versus the hack/leg press combo.

According to Mike, they do not have a seated leg curl/leg extension combo. Only the leg extension/prone leg curl combo which is still really cool, I’m just biased towards the seated and wish it came as a combo.
