Hi , so if i am doing 2 sets of hack squat with almost close to failure 8-10 reps and i do 2 sets of leg extension again very close to failure with maximum possible intensity. Would this volume be still good enough to build muscle over a period of time , all other things being equal ( food ,rest, sleep,stress etc ). Or would i still need more volume regardless to build muscle ?
Joe I think people are used to counting their build up sets as a set. They just are used to 4 sets. I’m reality the first 1-3 sets is lighter and not maximum effort. In the app if you had slots for 2-3 warm up sets to log people wouldn’t be asking volume questions anymore. It took me a bit to realize my 3-5 sets I was doing was actually about 1 good set in there actually doing anything.
