I’m 41, fairly jacked-ish, get bloods done regularly (3-4 times a year, everything A-OK). No aspirations of ever hitting the stage, my training is all purely for vanity lol.
Gyms still closed here in Montreal. They’re supposed be opening in next couple weeks, but who the hell knows.
I’ve been staying at maintenance calories while training at home over the last year. Part of me wants to go into a small calorie surplus once gyms open back up. Other part of me is telling me I’m an old fuck, health should be number one priority, and going into a surplus could possibly jeopardize that, and I have no business going into anything higher than maintenance calories.
Would it be something I should test out? Getting bloods done in a few weeks, hopefully gyms will be open around then. Maybe go into a surplus for a couple months, get bloods done again, see if everything’s cool, then go from there?
Can’t believe I’m at that age where I’m thinking about this stuff haha
