ParticipantI am just finishing up the PPL2.0 on a 6day split. I am hoping to get some suggestions on where to go next. I’ve attached some photos of where I was at when I started the program and at the end. Where should I look to focus on in my next training block? I feel like my chest and arms could use some focus…but I don’t know shit, I just started lifting about 1 year ago, 42 yo next week. Thanks everyone! 1st pic is at beginning of 12 weeks, last three are on my last push and pull days. Legs are coming along but not my primary focus currently.

ParticipantI have no clue how to pose for best photos. I’m slowly working on feeling and connecting with each muscle group. I was definitely leaner at the beginning and I’ve not paid particular attention to nutrition but I try to stay within my macros by eating similar meals daily. That needs a lot of work.

ParticipantMy vote is cannonball delts or pec augmentation as you have already stated you feel like you need some more shoulder or chest focus. Keep in mind it’s important to take into consideration what program you will WANT to do and what you will stick to. Awesome work so far mate, keep it up!

ParticipantI was thinking the same thing Andrew. I had no problem with this one and never got bored. Loved having it all set out for me and not trying to figure out things on my own like I was doing prior to getting this app. I can’t wait to get to the gym so the discipline is solid. Thanks to both of you for the kind words!

ParticipantGreat transformation Nate. Which program are you going with? And what changes did you make to your diet?

ParticipantI would stick to an upper/lower program or just a fullbody.
If you just started lifting 1 year ago, I would instead focus on correcting the exercises and mind muscle connection. Become a master in the execution of the exercises, and controlling the weight.
With only one year of lifting, there will be a lot to learn here, do not make it to complicated.May 7, 2022 at 8:14 am #349243BryceBahm

ParticipantThanks again everyone. Tom, diet wise I quit drinking soda as much as I did. I was addicted and would have more sodas in one day than I care to remember. I also quit staying up till after midnight and that alone cut out a lot of junk food that I would eat after dinner. Other than that I eat a very big protein packed breakfast after my training (I train in the morning fasted) and lots of fruit during the day to curb cravings.
Bryce thanks for the response. I do love the PPL2.0 program and am definitely going to do it again but I feel like I just want to switch it up for this block, for some variety. I feel like I want to focus on getting my upper chest more filled out and I really loved all the shoulder work in the PPL2.0 would the pec augmentation program be a good choice? If not I will probably take your advice and stick with the PPL2.0 for another block. Again thank you thank you thank you for this app. I love it

ParticipantMartin! Thanks for the response man! Yeah I am still very new and definitely don’t want to over complicate it. I was thinking a change up would be nice but you guys and Bryce have me thinking I need to go another round here. I do try very hard to focus very hard on each exercise and as you say master it but I know I am a LONG way off, and I love it. The daily commitment to getting better is there. I have a lot to think about! I appreciate all of you for chiming in. Have a great weekend everyone

ParticipantNow that I finished up the last day of ppl2.0 and could go in to see the workouts in different programs I think I am going to do 6 weeks of the Pec Aug program as it seems to be a lot of the same exercises in what ppl2.0 had so I can continue to focus on what I know and I like the added chest day because I’ve been wanting to get some bench time in with a barbell. Gonna reassess after 6 weeks as Joe mentioned in the intro video and see if I should restart the 6 week block or continue on to finish it up with 12. Looking forward to getting started on Monday.
This app and community and feedback from Bryce and Joe is just fantastic.

Sometimes training is like broccoli.
It can be kind of boring, but it’s good for you. -
