Part of my late night thoughts have been on the casein vs whey debate. I recently started buying both casein and whey(it’s an isolate/concentrate blend). For my mid day shakes I have been doing 25g whey and 25g casein. Thought process is that the 25g whey, which equals ~20g protein, is absorbed and utilized faster to increase protein metabolism and then the 25g casein, which equals ~18g protein, is digested slower to maintain that spike in protein metabolism thus prolonging that state.
I guess my question really is… is this even worth doing? Casein is definitely more expensive and if the benefit is minimal I’d have no problem dropping it and just using my whey blend like I did before
