    Hi guys.

I’m just wondering as I’ve watched all the leg workout videos, and the machines I use (leg press) machines are slightly different to the ones I use in my gym (JD GYM)

I’m struggling to find that muscle mind connection especially with leg presses (I don’t feel it in my quads) and I feel like the more weight I’m putting on the less the movement is coming back towards my chest if that makes sense (yes maybe you will say don’t increase the weight then) I’m hitting now 250kg (125 each side) for 8 reps 0RIR , but my knee joints I wouldn’t say are a strong point (after years of long distance running etc) I do struggle with big leg movements (squats, hacks and leg presses) what would you say/advise to do? Over movements are quite fine and I do progress with (RDL’s, leg curls, leg extensions, KB Lunges, reverse leg curls, adductors , glute machine etc) it’s just the big movements I really want to progress with but feel like the more weight I add I feel like my knees are going to pop which I don’t want to do lol.

    Any advise would be appreciated.

Ps (I’m always focussed on form, technique and slow reps, maybe going to slow lol)

Joe/Bryce thank you for the replies. Much appreciated. 👍🏽 that’s what I do now if I feel like my knees are really flaring up due to heavy leg presses etc I’ll sit back on increasing load and focus more so on form, reduce rep speed etc and concentrate on going deeper. Why I have it in my mind about increasing weight to just progressively overload I will never know but again it’s a mind thing and I’d rather progressively improve in form, technique etc rather than try and pop my knees with just adding further unnecessarily weight haha. I tend to do a lot more lunges, leg extensions etc because they just feel better and the muscle mind connection is more there as well. So thank you for your reply 👍🏽
