I have a question about a new approach to log booking that I’m considering.

I’ve log booked for many years off and on, but always get turned off by having to write down EVERY set, intensifier, etc. because I do enjoy some degree of freedom and going by feel.

My thought is that I could just use a spreadsheet to log one or two standardized lifts for each body part, and have more freedom with the rest. That way I can adjust based on how those benchmarks are improving.

My only worry is that I won’t have a full written picture of everything that’s aggregating (overall volume, high vs low reps, intensity, etc) to gauge WHY things may be going up or down. I’d love to hear thoughts on this approach and if having more fun with training outweighs incomplete tracking.

    Thanks!

That’s next-level thinking. Thank you so much for your reply, Bryce. Definitely a way of going about it that I hadn’t been exposed to before.
