Hello coaches, when doing tricep pushdowns/extensions you obviously aren’t keeping the ends of the rope together, you seperating them. So my question is: Is the line of force the line as the ropes or is it the cable?

I’ll just poke in here and say it’s at the ropes, that starts as a continuum of the cable but ends at a slightly oblique angle. Assuming you are doing the exercise to get stronger/bigger, why is this important to know? I don’t mean to bother, I’m just uninformed and curious to learn new stuff.

Hey KN, thanks for the reply but I’m not sure I get what you’re saying. The reason I would like to know is because I want to know if the resistance of the ropes lines up with my elbow joints. The reason we want that is to decrease elbow pain over the long term. For example on skull crushers you’ve probably experienced elbow pain since it for a lot of people aligns horribly.

Can you please explain this with simpler terms?

Thank you, sorry to be a pain, elbows have served me well so far so I will pay more attention to this stuff from now on.

Hey KN, it’s no pain, I like giving out advice. Glad to hear you’ll keep this in mind.
