So I hear a lot of confusing things about the metabolic system, “spicy things are good to eat to speed it up” “ have a two week break on low calories to reset it” etc ect. can anyone sort the facts from the myths and explain how it work and the best way to use it to your advantage?

I’ll do a longer video on this, but in short, I’d say “mixing it up” it really the most important when you’re in a large(ish) deficit for a long period of time. So, yes, there are hormonal benefits for structured refeeds. If you’re in a very small deficit or maintenance, it’s not really necessary. And as far as for prolonged bulks, it’s more about your body fat levels. So yes, if you accumulate too much body fat it can put you in a “less than optimal” spot hormonally. So that can be the benefit to “mini-cuts” during a prolonged bulk. Get body fat in check, and also can improve blood sugar markers as well
