I’m currently serving in the military and about to compete in bodybuilding for the first time. We are required to run 2 miles for our physical fitness test. My questions is how should I prepare for a running test without compromising my bodybuilding progression and do so safety at 255lbs without composing my lower joints? Thanks

Yeah I’d say just throw in an easy run once or twice a week in place of your cardio to maintain your motor patterns for running. Keep the pace easy and distance relatively short so you can preserve your training in the gym. I find when I stop running altogether for too long my form gets inefficient and the test is much harder. The test will still be a grinder on the lungs, but it helps to have efficient and familiar strides.
