I hope you and the family are doing well. I wanted to ask a question regarding training. In my program various exercises are prescribed in particular the hack squat and chest press. I’ve noticed on these exercises I can lift heavier weight however during the set my body recruits other muscles to complete the work (for the hack it’s generally glutes and core/ anterior delta for the chest press) If i drop the weigh I find that the muscle I am targeting really lights up.
My question is if there is preference for hyperthrophy?
