First of all I just wanted to say I love the app and all the info on here, it’s been very beneficial for me to watch and learn as I am just finishing up my bachelors in exercise science and this stuff is my passion!

I have a few questions I’ll start with the simple ones and leave the more complex ones for the end.

    1. I started the full body program and was wondering if I wanted to add calf training would you recommend doing it on different days or add it into the already programmed workouts?

    2. When the exercises are listed in the same block as A1 & A2 with rest listed as 2-3 minutes is that in between exercises or after the the final exercise of the block? (I watched the guidance video and I couldn’t recall hearing the input on that) as I know supersets are normally done in succession with minimal to no rest

    3. This one is by far the most complex question of them all. So I gave 2 pictures here showing what I look like after 3 months of training at maintenance and after 4 years. My story is interesting and I am looking for your recommendation. I trained for about 18 months at maintenance calories but technique and intensity wasn’t really there. Obviously I had some newbie gains. After that I spent about another 18 months doing rehab to increase my body awareness and baseline of strength. ( I had some shoulder, knee and ankle issues) after I completed that it took my to last spring of 2020 where I went into a calorie deficit up till this point and trained consistently and intensely. I’m finally happy with my level of body fat as shown in the second photo. My goal now is to gain as much muscle as I can without sky rocketing in body fat. What would you recommend I do calorie wise regarding a surplus to maximize muscle growth regarding my training background? as I would say I am in between a beginner and a intermediate as know how to train but I haven’t been in a surplus or trained intensely or consistently for an extended period of time!

    Thanks,
    Austin

Thank you very much Joe! Everything you said was very helpful and if there’s one thing I’ve learned is take what is useful and discard the rest so like you said everything will have some nuances and personal preferences! Regarding my last question. Another thing I was trying to ask is due to my story of my training history that I listed above, where do you thing I would fall on the spectrum or beginner, intermediate and advanced? Also in your opinion do you think I’m passed that newbie gains phase? As this past year is where I have made the most of progress by being consistent, adherent and actually not training like a cupcake as you call it haha!
