    Hey Joe,

    I don’t have aceess to pulldown machine. So, I’m doing 1 arm lat pulldown with bands, by attaching a band on the top of my rack – I try to train the full range by stepping away from the rack. I do partial range, I mean I start with the position where a band provides maximum tension in the mid to short range and then by stepping away from the rack, I increase tension in the lengthned to mid range.

    Is this a good alternative of machine pull down? Is there any better alternative for pulldown movements except pull-ups (with free weights)?

    Thanks Bryce for the informative response.
    I agree that pull-ups is the best alternative exercise for lengthned range, but I can’t do many pull-ups so using ring row kind of movement or band one to train the complete range.
