ParticipantJoe,
Watching you swat mosquitoes in your garage made me think back to when I was stationed in FL and trained in the afternoon heat. Mosquitoes were one thing, but the no-see-ums used to eat me alive. Good times.
Speaking of garage gym temperatures, I’m stationed in Ohio now and train early mornings as the family has expanded. I think it’s finally getting to “summer” here, but the garage is routinely pretty darn cold in the winter. I bundle up while I train and don’t think it affects me much (other than taking longer to warm up), but wanted to get your opinion.
My question is whether I’m being an idiot by not getting a cheap space heater to make the temperature a little more reasonable in the winter. I’m pretty sure it’s “not that big of a deal”, but after 26 years of lifting every little bit of optimization helps. Anything in your research or experience on optimal training temperature? I see a lot on sleep, etc., but have never really seen this discussed. Plus my wife is pretty sure there’s something wrong with me, haha.
Thanks.

ParticipantJoe, thanks for the response! I kind of figured it came down to personal preference and I appreciate the insight.
