I understand the importance of a pre-workout meal with carbs/protein about an hour before working out, but I notice when I do this, I get less from my pre-workout supplement – meaning the stimulants are much less effective. I don’t notice a huge gain in energy from the carbs versus if i eat ~3 hours before the gym. What would you recommendation be?
