Hey. I’m about to start a new PPL split with high intensity, low volume. I’ve been doing high volume training for the passed years but all the hype with top sets/backoff sets really got me fired up to try it out. i’m a bit concerned about the volume, I think my push session maybe will be too much? I’ll have two rotations with same layout but different exercise (rotation 1 flat bench, rotation 2 machine press for example).

Would this be too much? I’ll run push pull rest legs rest – repeat. 1 Max effort (5-9 rep) 1 backoff (10-15) all sets to mechanical failure.

    Push

    Incline benchpess X2
    Overheadpress x2
    Flat chestpress x2
    Closegrip bench x2 (tri compound)
    Flyes machine x2
    Side laterals x2 + 1 RestPause
    tricep pushdown x2

Cheers Joe! Would you mind sharing your PRO/CONS thougts about rotation every other session and doing the same sessions? Would love to hear your reasoning
