Hi Joe and Bryce,
my question is a bit surreal but here we go.
When standing, our quads both at the hip and knee joint are not at their full length. When we seat on a leg extension, at the start position, tendons from the knee joint lengthen, whilst on the proximal side they shorten.
Even on a leg press, or hack, the lengthening is always at the knee joint if Iām not wrong. But at the hip we experience a shortening of the tendons.
Now, my question is
if someone comes up with a machine that lets us slightly hyperextend our hip and lengthen at the knees too in the eccentric and lets us move flexing the quads both at the hip and knees, do you think there would be place for such a machine?
But the real question is: Would such position with this ROM give something more to quads since we would train on a more lengthened position at the start?
*Iām always concerned with the upper part of my upper legs. I know anatomically there is so much that goes on there. However it always takes me a bigger effort mentally to engage that portion.
This explain this rather crazy/dumb question hopefully š
