    Optimal position for them?

    Or go by feel?

    6’5 tend to find it hitting a lot more erector and whole back when bar is placed just above patella?

    Tough to say without seeing it. Deadlifts vary so much person to person. Just be sure the rack is set in a place just shy of how far your hips can comfortably flex. In no part of that range should you see unnecessary movement of the spine except of form starts to break down. That’s when you call the set.

    That’s a perfectly fine place to keep them. Same as anything, keep the form consistent, track and progress form and load
