Hi guys…
When doing the high incline Smith machine press..my gym has the loser life fitness smith with the weird angle…the safeties are set up where there is a decent sized gap between each setting. The problem us I would like to do them with a dead stop for a split second and standardize that form..however when determining ROM that I am comfortable with..the safeties are such that it bottoms out before I’m done my active range and the next peg down puts my well out of that range…should I remove the safety and work the extra ROM like a normal press? Or possibly program a neutral grip machine press on another push day that gets me in that arm path? I hope that makes sense.
