Just found out I have arthritis (level4) in my left shoulder. Doctor said I can’t do bench or overhead press. (pretty pissed off) Only light weight and high reps.

do I switch up my whole workout to high reps, with moderate weight? do I only do high reps for the bench and certain shoulder workouts?

I was really set on gaining some quality muscle, but now with this injury I don’t think it’s possible

My first advice is just to continue to consult with your doc and forms of therapies for help and guidance. They have licensing to safely lead you.

Secondly, stay within what doesn’t give you pain and discomfort at all times.

You need to find a trainer that can work directly with your doctor. Often, Dr will give advice that is best for 99/100 people the see. I can’t give you advice that goes against your doc, but personally I have spoken with doctors of clients and been able to form a plan they approve of
