So i recently got bitched at by my gyms owner for doing rack pulls so its either replace the exercise or replace the gym. I like it here and work here so im choosing to stay. Im looking for a movement that mocks a banded rack pull. Im thinking about replacing it with a banded trap bar block pull? Can someone shed some light on this? Is this a good replacement? My goals with a rack pull still stand thick traps/upper back.
My simple answer is if you like the exercise, perform it well, and it’s giving you results then just do it quieter. Slow down the eccentric. Yes there are other options, but I’ve had many a person do pin pulling in one way or another in a public gym and had them do it quietly out of courtesy.
