Hi the Smith machine in my gym has a slight lean , asin the bar doesn’t go straight up and down . My question is how does this effect my gym decision while doing diff exercise.
For quads i understand i need to face the way which lets my knee travel forward in a squat , and face the other way for hip dominant squat.

What about things like bench press , jm press, shoulder press . Any things to consider when deciding which way to face while doing these exercises?

Thanks coach , Yes i think i can work on only the lengthened position . As i press , i feel the lean is a bit too much , so it’s getting away from my plane . I feel like a cramp on my midback when i reach towards the end range .

Probably a good idea to stay in the lengthened range? as at the bottom the alignment is perfect

Thinking specifically of the jm press… would you consider putting a weight under one end of the bench and attempt to get the bench to perpendicular?
