Hey guys, I’m interested to hear your thoughts on sodium intake. I know that sodium isn’t as bad for you as the public thinks it can be, but is there a recommended limit? For instance, I believe I have around 3,000 mg, do you think that is a little high? Thanks!
Following…been wondering about this myself. An old coach got me obsessed with sodium levels. I’m at 2300mg and is hard to stay there. However I do have to say I retain liquids like a damn sponge when I eat high sodium foods…
I’m not a coach. My wife is a figure competitor, tracks everything to the gram. What we found was that if her sodium levels dip too low she’s more susceptible to migraines. She’s 5’5″ 132lbs and we live in Kansas City (to touch on Coach Bryce’s comment on environment and climate) so she maintains close to 4,500mg/day to prevent migraines. We actually keep a jar of pickle juice in the fridge just in case she has a lower sodium day and starts to feel a migraine setting in. Great topic! 👍🏼👍🏼
