Straight sets

    Is there ever an instance you would recommend someone doing more of a straight set approach moving up in weight instead of a top and back off? For instance, a set of 300×10, 315×10, 330×10 reaching failure at the last set. Those previous sets still being challenging and close to that final set in load but not quite to failure until the last set. I know that training in this way will accumulate more volume and will take away from the loads you would be able to handle. But are there any benefits to training this way? where you would maybe recommend this approach to someone?
