    Hey Joe!

    Less of a question and more of a “reassure me please you godlike man!”

    So as a recreational lifter, I really enjoy both hypertrophy training and also powerlifting style training (however tailoring exercises so they still fit my mechanics better for longevity)

    I know that Josh Vogel has done and may still do a version where you do the basic Wendlers 5/3/1 for say deadlifts and then do the rest of the session in a typical hypertrophy coach fashion

    I know that combining the 2 will mean you are sub optimal for both, but as long as you are recovering then you will still gain strength and hypertrophy just at a slower rate right?

    I would like to do something like this as even though its slower I’ll enjoy it a lot and that’s obviously important, I just wanted to check that it wont be so counter productive as to go backwards

    I’ll try it anyway and see the results but always nice to have your take on things
