Just chasing some advice on how best to train when I encounter a strength imbalance between my limbs.
Eg: Going to 0RIR on Single Arm DB Preacher Curls my left arm generally gives out a couple reps short of my right arm.
The two options that seem to me to be most likely are…
– Do left arm first to failure and then complete the same number of reps on my right arm til the left arm catches up?
– Just take both arms to failure regardless of how many reps I get on each arm and hope they eventually even out naturally?
It’s not something I’m particularly worried about, just wanted to get your thoughts on the best way to approach it.
Hello, I am right side dominant and my biceps are half an inch bigger in my left arm compared to the right. In the unilateral movements, my left arm fatigues out while there are still RIR in my right arm, and I thought this is the reason for the size difference between left and right. I try to even out the imbalance by reserving some reps in my right, and hoping my left arm will eventually be as strong as my right.
Please any advice to even the size of my arms and avoid the imbalance at the same time? Thanks in advance!
It’s good to know that it’s normal to have this imbalance in coordination.
