Hey there! Love the app and grateful for all the responses.
My questions is this and probably has multiple answers… so I’m 6’1 and weigh 200lbs. I’m probably 18% body fat or close to that. I want to get stronger and I know I need to be in a bit of a surplus to put on muscle but I also am a little “fatter” than I’d like to be… is it best to just bag it and continue to gain weight or would it be more beneficial to get down to 10-14% body fat and then do a reverse diet into a small surplus? I just see all you guys in a surplus and still look plenty lean! Which is how I would prefer to do it. Hopefully this question makes sense!

Hello sir, I’m in the same boat. I’m going to cut for 12-15 weeks to have a leaner starting position before I bulk. Otherwise I would just feel sluggish gaining more body fat when I’m not starting off at a lean enough position! Good luck with whatever you decide to do

I reckon you’re in a good place right now ..To get stronger in my experience is to do the time under tension method – slow on the negatives(3-4secs) and pause(1-2sec) then push or pull(1-2sec) to contract then hold(1-2sec) and just progress overload overtime when your body is comfortable with the movements and with good control of the weight..II learned this from Joe is never forget to put in good quality reps and to rush it .. It’s very effective for me but sometimes we’re build differently(genetics)I’m sure Joe will have the best explanation and solution.
