I’ve been running pec augmentation for 10 weeks and have seen great progress. As I’ve been pushing the weights on my presses I’ve began to get some shoulder pain while pressing over the last couple weeks (has happened in the past as weights go up). Last push day I had to stop my cable flies a little early as well. I’ve had people watch my form and they all seem to think it’s fine so I don’t think that’s it.

My goals are to eventually compete and my chest is not totally where I want yet but my back is another weak spot that needs work. Would it be a good idea to switch to the back specialization to give my shoulder a break with lower frequency of pressing. Just don’t want it to get to the point of a real injury and training back almost never seems to bother it.

Seems like a good idea but I think the pain comes propably from certain exercises and ranges of motions in your chest exercises. You may be exceeding your own active range of motion and structure. I find most chest exercises hurt my shoulders as I get too much range of motion. I would for example switch flys to some variation that limits a little bit of range of motion on the stretched position.
