Hi Coach Joe and Bryce, hope you both are doing well
Just wanted to know if this form of setup is okay for the high incline banded smith press. As the smith machine in my gym does not have something directly over the bar I had no place to attach the band to so i ended up putting it on one of the sides and figured it would not make a difference because of the profile of a smith machine. I’ve attached the photos so you can see
Also added a small plate to the locking part of the bench to get the high incline which was comfortable with my body

My gym does have straps and carabiners which I could potentially attach to the top of the machine but there is nothing directly above the barbell, the only place I could attach it is a little bit to the front so effectively the band would be pulling the rod FORWARD instead of UPWARD would that make a big difference? I attached it to the side as it can hook on directly above the rod and pulls UP and it looks it’s hanging off the side because the weight is racked in the photo and i set it in a way so there’s no tension in the top range so the band is slacking off
