I am trying to figure out how much cardio to do and the type. I spend way too much time in the gym and unfortunately I have put it ahead of everything/everyone in my life for a long time. I’m trying to change, but I currently go to the gym 7 days a week. Weight train every day and do cardio for 1 hour everyday. It’s not in the same category as all out hiit, but I go 2 mins on level 18 on the step mill hands on the side, 1 min level 7 hands off. Repeat for the hour. I know I am over training. I hate the cardio sessions. How should I structure my cardio to keep lean gains/feel better and be as toned as possible? I hate cardio, but my mind won’t let me take a day off from weight training or cardio if I’m making the decision.
Also, should I take off days from cardio and weight training every week.
I just need to hear it from an expert, because the saying “do as I say, not as I do” is very applicable to me.
I will post pics of myself. I look better in the pics than normal (prob lighting) but i still am not content and realize I never will be.
Thanks for your reply! Hey, how do I get to the “Guidance” section you mention? Next, I am needing and looking for more of a map or recipe of what I need to be doing. For example, do 30 minutes of stairclimbing 2 days per week and a 3 mile, 12 minute jog 1 day per week – all skipping one day in between. Shoud cardio be done on same days with weights or cardio days only.
My goals are: Lean/muscular as possible. As efficient as possible. Body weight is 215lbs. Height 6’1″. Estimated body fat 11%.
