Hey Joe, so I recently just signed up a gentleman who weighs 450 pounds and I will be training with him three times per week for one hour. This is the first time in my training career that I trained somebody in this population. He has his nutrition locked in pretty well, he has no injuries really at all, and he hasn’t done any strength training in over two years. Obviously his goal is fat loss. I have a good general idea what I will do with him in the gym, but I was wondering if you had any specific tips and recommendations to train somebody like this. Should the rep range be a little bit higher, should I use more of a circuit style where we are doing a lot of supersets, just to keep him moving basically the whole time? I obviously know to avoid certain machines and exercises due to his size, again, just wondering if you had any specific advice. As always, very grateful for everything that you do Joe

Awesome. Wasn’t thinking about some of that stuff, and that’s the stuff that will matter the most. I overthink the programming for some people sometimes and lose sight of the other emotional things. Thanks so much Joe
