When doing tricep pushdowns i always use 2 ropes to get my upper arm as back as i can, but my upper arms are still in a flared internal position.
Does it make a difference on the long head of the tricep when the arm is at the side of the body vs when its flared out?
I feel my tricep contract harder when i try single arm pushdowns with my arm closer to my body

But if lets say im in a internal/ flared position, the upper arm would be away from the body therefore the longhead wouldnt be as shortened as it would be if my arm was tighter and closer to the body. (Scaps would be pulled back as much i could pull them back)
Is that right, or it doesnt actually matter?

I would argue your long head has better leverage to wrap around the shoulder and therefore have better alignment when your elbows are flared, so you re good.

Hey Joe/Bryce i had another question about this topic.
Will the longhead contract harder when my upper arm is just behind my body vs my upper arm just in front of my body?
Is it something worth keeping in mind when doing pushdowns or it doesnt really matter?
