    Novice question: Curious as to why we don’t use unilateral movements like split squats as meat and potatoes exercises.

    This isn’t something I’ve seen discussed a lot. John Welbourn had step ups and split squats in the power athlete programs like this. Maybe because that is more appropriate for athletic development than hypertrophy?

    Followup question here. Is unilateral leg press for quads worse for quads than bilateral because you can use so much less weight because there is not as much stability at the pelvis?
